Renee Zellweger, Bradley Cooper have fire scare

Renee Zellweger and Bradley Cooper had to call the fire department Sunday night when a fire broke out at his mom's suburban Philadelphia home.

Four engines responded to the Jenkington, Penn. house at 10:14 p.m., the dispatch supervisor tells The Hollywood Reporter. The actors were with several members of their family.

"It was not a very major fire," an official says. "We didn't have to use hoses. It was out within a few minutes. Pretty much the fireplace got a little out of…

'Spider-Man' stunt goes awry; is show in peril?

The fate of Broadway's most expensive accident-prone musical is in limbo as producers try to rejigger their high-flying stunts in time to satisfy safety investigators and reopen.

Producers canceled a Wednesday matinee performance of "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" after Monday evening's 30-foot plunge of a Spider-Man stunt double into a stage pit.

State investigators weren't sure whether the equipment, the rigging or the performer caused the fourth accident in the troubled…

Early U2 "a little rinky-dink," says label boss

To mark the 50th anniversary of Island Records, founder and music industry icon Chris Blackwell has taken part in a book tracing the label's formative years and beyond.

Case in point: Blackwell signed U2 in 1980, but he wasn't all that impressed…

Music labels reach fans with multiplatform apps

The app is far too powerful a tool to be limited to mobile phones.

In 2010, the developer and music industries took bold steps to apply this burgeoning distribution model to a range of new devices and platforms. Take Pandora, the personalized Internet radio service that became the killer app for music on the iPhone when it was first introduced in 2008.
